Our church is in a cluster of Baptist churches in the
area, including Leigh Park, Denmead, Waterlooville, Emsworth and Horndean.
Our Minister, Rev'd Jacky Storey meets with the other ministers on a monthly basis. She is also
committed to working ecumenically, strongly believing that we are
“ better together“.
Her strong desire is to see Christian Community reflect the inclusive and
embracing love of God and we believe that church is not only somewhere
to look for and find Christ but also a place to find friendship and
belonging and a safe place to grow and respond to the call to live
distinctive “salt and light“ “fully human“ lives.
One of Jacky's favourite
scriptures is John 15:5 “ . . . apart from me you can do nothing“. That’s
what makes the Christian life so exciting - seeing God do so much more
than we would ever have asked or even imagined - by His grace and the
power of the Holy Spirit.
The outreach of the church is inclusive of
old and young, existing members and those who are not yet members of
our church community. We have regular meetings in local Retirement and
Care Homes, special events for the Seniors and Holiday Club for the
children.
Children and Young people are catered for with Sunday
morning 'Kidz Klub' for the 8 years and up, and 'Sparklers' for the
younger ones.
